Parklane’s After Run Medical Mission
After a successful turnout of more than 2,000 runners for Hunat Sugbu 4 held last June 22, 2014 at Parkmall, Cebu Parklane International Hotel will be housing free medical services for nearby communities this coming Saturday July 5, 2014. As promised, the proceeds generated from the memorial run of CPIH’s late president Manuel Ting will be subsidized to support the locals’ much needed medical assistance which includes optical, dental, and minor surgical procedures as well as general consultation and laboratory services.
“Being the only hotel that stands for Cebu, we recognize our responsibility for Cebuanos especially for those who are in dire need of medical support. This will be our 4th medical mission and we always look forward to doing this annually.” said CPIH’s General Manager Ms. Cenelyn Manguilomotan.
In partnership with Jesu Christi Community, about 150 volunteers are expected drawn from different local groups. The Gualandi Volunteer Service Program working alongside VSO Bahaginan and International Citizen Service also pledged to join.
“We catered to nearly 1,500 patients last year and anticipate the same number this Saturday. The communities we have coordinated with are from Brgy. Luz, Brgy. Camputhaw, Brgy. Lorega and Brgy. Lahug,” said CPIH’s Security Head Mr. Nick Nacorda.
Medical practitioners from local hospitals will focus on different areas. Doctors from Southwestern University will conduct dental procedures, Cebu Doctor’s University, Gullas College of Medicine and the Armed Forces of the Philippines will carry out consultation and surgical services. Nurses from Cebu City Medical Center will also take part in this community service.
