Parklane Hotel Slates ‘Hunat Sugbu’
Cebu Parklane Hotel International goes on with its annual memorial fun run ‘Hunat Sugbu: Dagan Para ni Maning’, which is now on its third year.
In honor of the late President of Parklane Hotel Manuel “Maning” Ting, the first Cebu Runners Club president and a running enthusiast himself who inspired his people to live a healthy lifestyle, the hotel started the initiative in 2011, with a growing number of participants every year.
“Hunat” which is a Cebuano word for “move forward’ is a statement that with the guidance of Ting’s values and principles, Parklane Hotel is moving forward with enthusiasm and with great hope, and “Sugbu”– because the running event is intended not just for the Parklane Runners Club but to all running enthusiasts in Cebu.
The event will be on June 23 where 5K, 10K and 21K categories are available. It is open to both local and foreign runners. In a press conference held last Thursday (May 23), organizers discussed that the route in this year’s run is more challenging than the previous years’. Aside from that, it is said that Hunat Sugbu will be giving away more than P 100,000 worth of cash and major prizes for the top finishers. With this signature fun run, the hotel will serve a breakfast buffet to all registered runners , give out quality dry-fit shirts and unique medal for the 21K winners. Gift certificates and up-for-grab items from the Parklane Hotel, iSHOP, ROX and Rudy Project will also be raffled during the awarding. Gunstart during the run will be at 4:30 am at the Ayala Terraces.
Proceeds of this fun run will go to the Jesu Christi Community of Cebu and Gualandi Volunteer Service Programme Inc.
Cebu Parklane Hotel International is also celebrating its seventh year anniversary this year.
