With the success of Hunat Sugbu 1, 2 and 3 (Dagan Para ni Maning), Cebu Parklane International Hotel (CPIH) will hold a more challenging turf this time for the sports enthusiasts—triathlon.

The event will be held in Oslob on October 6, 2013. “Hunat Sugbu Tri goes to Oslob” is open to all who want to challenge themselves in the areas of swimming, biking, and of course the fad nowadays when it comes to health and fitness, running. The registration of the feat is only P1,800 for the Standard and Sprint, while Team Relay is at P1,200. All fees include loot bags, race numbers, bike & helmet stickers, swimming caps, visors, race bib holders and t-shirts already. There are also the finishers’ medals, a carbohydrate-loading dinner the night before the event, and Parklane Hotel’s signature inclusion of buffet at the finish line on the race day.

410 Triatheletes are expected to join in this race with majority of the delegates enlisted are coming from neighboring provinces of Cebu. More than a race itself, “Hunat Sugbu Tri goes to Oslob” also targets to promote Oslob as a tourist destination, most especially with the growing fascination of tourists with the ‘butandings’ (whale sharks) present in the province. Not only that, historic sites like old-Spanish houses, parks and churches among others are also scenic spots to catch in the place. Thus, the partnership with Parklane Hotel and the municipality’s local government for the said event.

“Oslob people are very excited for the event because we know that this (Hunat Sugbu Tri) will put Oslob in the map,” quips Oslob Mayor Ronald Guaren during the press conference of the event.

“When I was asked what is the best that would stand for Parklane, I’ve always thought that it is the hotel in Cebu that stands for Cebu…sports tourism has always been our advocacy and we always wanted to have people have a taste of Cebu,” mused CPIH General Manager Zen Manguilimutan during the press con.

“Hunat Sugbu Tri goes to Oslob” will be composed of three categories namely: Standard (1.5km swim -40km bike -10km run) with age group sub-categories for male and female, Sprint (750m swim – 20km bike – 5km run), and Team Relay for a group of three with one female per team (same with standard distance).
