Pampanga To Affirm ‘Culinary Capital’ Title With Food Truck Fest
The City of Angeles in Pampanga is set to affirm its claim as the country’s culinary capital with the launch of its first-ever Food Truck Festival, which will be part of the month-long Flavors of the Philippines 2016.
Flavors is one of the activities under the biggest gastronomic event of the world, the Madrid Fusion Manila 2016 held last April 7 to 9 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
This Food Truck Fest, which will be spearheaded by the Holy Angel University—College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HAU-CHTM) and the Department of Tourism Region III (DOT-III), will be held on April 29 to 30.
The event is meant to provide a venue where food truck businesses can come together and introduce this creative business concept to the community.
It will offer a variety of delectable food choices from finger foods, pasta, rice meals and desserts topped with a mini concert that will surely give everyone a sweet finale to this year’s most flavorful month.
According to DOT-III, the food truck business has become a point of interest for entrepreneurs and the general public in the Philippines over the past few years.
It has also become a new alternative food service concept, particularly in commercial districts, being one of the easiest and most convenient ways to prepare and serve food. (PNA) SCS/ANP
