Palace Declares May 13 as Special Non-Working Holiday
Election Day, May 13, 2019 is declared as a special non-working holiday by President Rodrigo Duterte.
The proclamation read, “I, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Monday 13 May 2019, a special (non-working) holiday throughout the country for the National and Local elections.”
This is to let Filipinos exercise their right to vote properly during the elections.
