Paint the Town: Lapu-Lapu City Embarks in City Painting Project
Inline the 500th anniversary of the historical Battle of Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City will hold a simultaneous beautification project in the city.
Around 500 painters will help paint the city, with civil groups including Alpha Kappa Rho (Akrho) and Philippine Eagles Club are ready to lend a hand on the city painting project.
Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Ahong said that he is glad that the two groups have volunteered.
“I am glad that the two groups have volunteered to send their members who will help us paint the walls along our streets, especially those already vandalized,” Chan said.
The beautification project will help rebrand the city as the “Historic Resort City”, painting walls, government buildings, street posts, islands, government vehicles, uniforms of government employees, and including repainting of vandalized walls.
Chan also mentioned that Cebu-based Island Premium Paints sponsored the needed supplies on this project.
