PAGASA Says Rain Showers, Thunderstorms May Occur Over Visayas-Mindanao
State weather agency said there may be rain showers and thunderstorms over parts of Visayas and Mindanao on Thursday, even as a low-pressure area may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility during All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.
PAGASA said the Northeast Monsoon is gaining strength and may bring cooler weather to parts of Luzon. PAGASA said a low-pressure area approaching from the east may enter the PAR Saturday or Sunday.
The weather agency added that if the LPA becomes a cyclone while inside the PAR, it will be locally codenamed ‘Paeng’.
The Northeast Monsoon is affecting Northern Luzon while the inter-tropical convergence zone is affecting Mindanao, PAGASA, in its 5 am bulletin Thursday said.
“Eastern and Central Visayas, Mindanao and the province of Palawan will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms,” the bulletin said.
Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Ilocos may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain. PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
