PAGASA Issues Thunderstorm Advisory Affecting Metro Manila, Nearby Provinces
Manila (PNA) — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) advised residents of Metro Manila and nearby provinces on Monday afternoon to take precautionary measures due to localized thunderstorms that might cause heavy rains.
PAGASA issued at 1:30 p.m. a thunderstorm advisory affecting the cities of Marikina, Quezon, Muntinlupa and Las Piñas as well as the provinces of Tarlac (Bamban), Bataan (Dinalupihan, Morong, Hermosa), portions of Cavite, Zambales, Laguna and Rizal which may persist within two hours.
The agency said that thunderstorms are expected over other areas of Metro Manila, Pampanga, Batangas, Quezon, Tarlac and Bataan within the next two hours.
All are advised to take precautionary measures against heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flash floods and to keep monitoring for updates, the state weather said. (PNA) SCS/CLTC
