PAGASA Forecasts Storm-Free Weekend; ITCZ to Bring Rains in Mindanao
Filipinos can expect a storm-free weather in the next three days while fair weather with isolated thunderstorms will be experienced in most parts of the country, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday.
PAGASA weather forecaster Shaira Nonot said that no weather disturbance has been monitored near the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
She said the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms over the Zamboanga Peninsula and Davao region.
She added partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
In its advisory, PAGASA said moderate to occasionally strong winds from the west to southwest will prevail over the eastern section of Luzon and blowing from the southwest to west over eastern Visayas.
The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough. Winds will be light to moderate coming from the west to southwest over the rest of Luzon and from the southwest to west will prevail over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
