PAGASA: Fair Weather Prevails Until Weekend

The country will remain storm-free in the next three days, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In an interview, PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio on Friday said the agency has not seen any weather disturbance near the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) that may develop into tropical cyclone within the next three days or until weekend.

He said the agency expects zero to one tropical cyclone to affect the country for the month of February and March.

He added most parts of the country will continue to experience generally fair weather.

Aurelio said the Ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA) will affect Northern Luzon.

HPA is the opposite of the low-pressure area – a weather system consisting of warm air circulating over the Pacific Ocean.

For Friday forecast, PAGASA said the regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Ilocos will experience partly cloudy skies while the rest of the country including Metro Manila will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds coming from the east to southeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and from the northeast over the rest of the country.

Coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. (PNA) LGI/CLTC
