PAGASA: Expect Rains over Luzon, Visayas
Expect cloudy skies with rains in most parts of Luzon and Visayas on Friday due to the northeast monsoon affecting the country, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In an interview, PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said with the northeast monsoon affecting Luzon, parts of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Bicol Region and the provinces of Mindoro, Romblon and Marinduque will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains while the rest of Luzon including Metro Manila will have fair weather and be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated light rains.
He said the wind convergence of northeast monsoon and easterlies will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms over Visayas.
He added Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Aurelio said the agency has not seen any weather disturbance near the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) that may develop into tropical cyclone within the next three days or until weekend.
The temperature in Metro Manila will range 23-32 degrees Celsius on Friday.
The state-run weather bureau also issued gale warning as the sea condition will be moderate to rough affecting the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon and eastern seaboard of Visayas.
”Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” it warned.
In its advisory, PAGASA said moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas. (PNA) LAM/CLTC
