Pacific Partnership 2014 to Open 8-team Basketball Tournament
Manila — The Philippines portion of the multinational Pacific Partnership 2014 mission will start its eight-team basketball tournament this coming July 5.
The event will be held at the San Jose Regional Health Center Basketball Court in Tacloban City.
Teams from the United States, Australia, Japan and the Armed Forces of the Philippines will join with a group of local Tacloban City teams in the daylong competition, which is scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Aside from the basketball action, viewers can also enjoy for free the musical style of the Pacific Fleet Band, which will have its rock group on stage playing a wide variety of pop contemporary and classic hits.
The people of Tacloban are encouraged to come out, enjoy the day, and cheer for their favorite team.
Meanwhile, The US Navy’s Pacific Fleet Band is scheduled to have its rock band ensemble play a series of three free concerts this July for the citizens of Tacloban as part of the multinational mission Pacific Partnership 2014.
The 12-member rock band, which always plays a wide variety of contemporary pop and classic hits, is scheduled to play on the first floor of Robinsons Place Tacloban (Robinsons Mall) July 7-9 from 4-7 p.m.
