These projects are road concreting, material recovery and composting facility, children’s playground, ambulance, foldable van, evacuation centers and bridge, with a total worth of P30.44 million, while P3.416 million went to the cash bonus of barangay workers.

Madridejos got the biggest chunk of the funded programs and cash incentives amounting to P14.8 million with three projects topping the list, including an evacuation center (P6.2 million), road concreting in Barangay Mancilang (P5 million) and an ambulance vehicle (P1.6 million).

At least P11.890 million went to Bantayan, while Sta. Fe got P7.068 million. The biggest project in Bantayan was the P9.6 million bridge in Barangay Ticad, while Sta. Fe received P6.2 million for the construction of the evacuation center.

In the Gawad Kalinga housing site in Bantayan town where the Province gave P300,000 for the construction of its playground, children, aged seven, eight and nine, handed over cards to the governor and vice governor extending their gratitude to the two top Capitol officials.

“Thank You sa playground. Daghang Salamat, Gov. Davide and Vice Gov. Magpale,” said one of the beneficiaries.

In the municipality of Madridejos, Vice Mayor Salvador “Sally” de la Fuente assisted the top Capitol officials in the formal opening and turnover of the six projects to the town.

De la Fuente thanked Davide and Magpale for the projects, as well as the cash incentives given to their barangay health workers, barangay nutrition scholars, barangay animal health aide, day care workers, barangay tanods and Lupong Tagapamayapa from the 14 barangays.

In Bantayan, 809 barangay workers received cash incentives with a total amount of P1.491 million.

In Sta. Fe, Councilor Naomie Espinosa, who represented Mayor Jose Esgana who was not around due to an earlier commitment, joined Davide and Magpale in the groundbreaking ceremony of the P6.2 million evacuation center.

The projects of Davide and Magpale in the island are geared towards uplifting the lives of the Cebuano, in line with their administration’s Six-Key Development Agenda, namely, health and social services; countryside development; education and technical vocational training; environment protection, climate change and disaster risk management; infrastructure development, tourism and investment promotions; and law and order.

All these priorities are anchored towards the Capitol’s mantra, which is, “Kalambuan sa Matag Sugbuanon.” (Cebu Provincial Gov’t)
