OTOP Philippines participated in Manila FAME 2024, held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City from October 17 to 19. The event featured 30 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from across the country.

Themed “Reimagination,” the event highlighted sustainability and functional aesthetics. The OTOP Pavilion showcased products in fashion, furniture, lighting, home décor, houseware, food, and gifts, emphasizing sustainable materials and cultural heritage. The event generated over PHP 1.6 million in sales, with curated food gift packages leading the tally.

DTI Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque, during the opening ceremony, reaffirmed the government’s support for Filipino entrepreneurs and the creative industry. President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who attended the event on its second day, highlighted the creative sector’s contribution to the economy, stating it forms a substantial part of the country’s GDP. First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos also attended to express support for local artisans and enterprises.

The OTOP Philippines Program is a government initiative that promotes unique products and services rooted in local traditions. It supports MSMEs through product development, market access, and financial assistance while fostering innovation and competitiveness.

With support from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), OTOP Philippines continues to help rural communities grow, strengthen their market presence, and showcase Filipino talent to global audiences. (ASC)
