Osmeña Slams Team Rama Propagandists

Cebu City South District Rep. Tomas R. Osmeña criticized the propagandists of Team Rama for making a black propaganda by saying that the poor families living in lots that does not belong to them will be evicted if he will be elected as mayor.

Two old women in Sitio Fatima, Barangay Apas were so lonely talking with each other yesterday morning because according to them they were told during the meeting of their homeowners association that it would be dangerous for them if Osmeña will win against Reelectionist Mayor Michael Rama.

It was learned that the officials of the homeowners association had called up a meeting with their members, but while the meeting was ongoing some supporters of Team Rama arrived and delivered speeches.

“Mao may sulti nila nga kon modaug kuno pagka mayor si sir Tommy papahawaon kuno mi dinhi,” the two old women said.

The lawmaker who challenged the reelection bid of Rama during this Monday’s election criticized the actuations of the Team Rama supporters because it is not true that once he will win again as mayor he will have some urban poor families evicted from their locations.

Osmeña said he was the one who offered a landswap deal with the Capitol so the families living in the province-owned lots situated in 11 barangays of the city shall not be evicted for failure to completely pay their lots.

According to Osmeña that he believed that while the election day on Monday is fast approaching, his opponent will intensify their black propaganda purposely to discourage the voters to support him.

Another black propaganda of Team Rama, the lawmaker said, is that the annual cash assistance of the senior citizens will be reduced and the teachers who received cash assistance from the city blast December would be made to refund the amount if Osmeña will win.

“Daghan g’yud sila og black propaganda. Putlan kuno nako og koryente kadtong naka-avail sa Let there be Light program,” said Osmeña. He added that he was the one who fought that the fire victims in front of Lahug Elementary School can be connected again with power after their houses were hit by a fire a few years ago.
