Osmeña Dispels Reports of Sickness; Shows Medical Records
After he received reports that the political camp of Reelectionist Mayor Michael Rama is planning to create a black propaganda that he is already dying, Cebu City South District Rep. Tomas R. Osmeña yesterday distributed copies of his latest medical records showing that he is already cancer free.
Osmeña said he underwent a follow-up medical check-up at the M.D. Andersons Cancer Center in Houston, Texas last October and the results showed that he has no more cancer. The lawmaker was bringing with him copies of his medical records when he attended the 888 News Forum at Marco Polo Plaza Hotel on Tuesday.
While he was still mayor of Cebu City in 2008, the grandson of the late President Sergio Osmeña Sr., had underwent an operation in the United States to remove his urinary bladder that had cancer.
According to Osmeña that one of his informers from Team Rama tipped him that his political opponent is planning to create black propaganda few days before the May 13 Automated Local and National Elections by distributing fabricated medical reports that will show that he is dying in order to discourage his supporters to vote
for him.
It prompted the lawmaker to reveal and even distribute copies of the results of his follow-up check-up conducted by several respected doctors of M.D. Andersons Cancer Center. Although, Rama denied he is planning to make black propaganda against his main political opponent, but he said Osmeña should not be proud if the results of his medical check-up he is already cancer free.
“Ayaw g’yud siya pasultiha ana kay og atakehon siya karong adlawa na kalaki siya. Wala g’yuy maghinambog anang sakit kay ang atake dili g’yud magpili, kadaghan diha nga pwerteng ngilngiga sa lawas, sigi og exercise, ngilngig pa kaayo’g blood pressure, ah basta mao na gani nay kataposan nimo wala g’yud kay mahimo,” Rama reacted.
Some of the radio program handlers who are supporting the reelection bid of Rama usually announce that Osmeña is now very sickly, some of them says that the lawmaker “Magsaguyod na maglakaw,” meaning he could no longer walk straight.
When asked why he did not stop such kind of campaigning, Rama quickly said “Wala man gani ko moreklamo nga giapil nila ang akong private life ug gihinganlan og buang.” –
