Opening Ceremony Of The 71st CISM Congress & General Assembly

The CISM President, Colonel AbdulHakeem AlShino (BRN), had the pleasure to welcome all the participants of the 71st CISM Congress and General Assembly, which takes place in Tartu from 25th April to 1st May 2016, during the Opening Ceremony of the event. Delegates from the CISM nations will gather for 6 days in Tartu in order to discuss about CISM future and to take decisions related to the CISM activities.

Several guests of honor attended the Opening Ceremony: Colonel AbdulHakeem AlShino, CISM President, Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita, CISM Secretary General, Major General Dr. Gianni Gola, CISM Honorary President, Brigadier General Tiganik Artur, Deputy Commander of EDF, Mr. Valvo Semilarski, Vice-Mayor of Tartu, General Maktoon Salim Maktoon Al Mazrooey, Commander of the Armed Forces of Oman, Mr. Stefan Marginean, representative of the International Judo Federation and Dr. John Grubbström, President of the International Judo Federation. The Vice-Mayor of Tartu took the floor to welcome all the participants, followed by the welcome speech of Colonel AbdulHakeem AlShino, CISM President, and Brigadier General Tiganik Artur.

During this Opening Ceremony, the following persons were awarded with the CISM Order of Merit for their support towards the organization of the 71st CISM Congress & General Assembly: Brigadier General Tiganik Artur, Deputy Commander of EDF (Officer), Colonel Salekescin Aivar, Deputy Chief of EDF (Officer), Major Neinar Seli, President of Estonian National Olympic Committee (Grand Knight) and Major Stamm Meelis, CISM delegate (Knight).

The lectures and presentations of the Congress will start on 27th April while the General Assembly will take place on Friday 29th April in the morning.

Earlier in the afternoon, a Press Conference was held in the Dorpat Conference Center. CISM President, Colonel AbdulHakeem AlShino (BRN), CISM Secretary General, Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita (GUI), CISM Vice-President Europe, Colonel (G.S.) Dirk Schwede (GER) and the Chief of Delegation of Estonia, Major Heino Märks attended this Press Conference. The 4 speakers took the floor in front of the local journalists and then answered the questions of the audience composed of local journalists and military press.
