One-stop Business Permit Renewal to Start Jan 5
(PIO) – In order to give an ample time and space for the city’s partners in progress and development, the Cebu City Government through its City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) will hold the renewal of Mayor’s Business Permit for the year 2015 at the SM City Cebu Trade Hall 3 which will start this January 5 Monday and will last until January 23 Friday.
The processing of the business permit renewal will start at 10 o’clock in the morning until 7 o’clock in the evening from Mondays to Fridays on a first come first served basis. However, they are open for transaction for two Saturdays on January 10 and 24.
In an interview with the BARUGG News, Cto chief Diwa Cuevas encouraged the businessmen to renew their permits within the scheduled date on January 5-23 to avoid the two percent (2%) interest and Twenty-five percent (25%) surcharge and penalties. She clarified that their operations in SM Trade Hall will last until January 24 Saturday as booked in the SM Trade Hall but it has already interest, surcharge and penalties, adding that their operation will be temporarily closed on January 17 Saturday for the Sinulog celebration.
Cuevas has also shared that they are targeting at least Five billion pesos collection during the period. She likewise clarified that they cannot predict how many clients will be served per day, however she pointed out that they will be issuing a computerized priority numbers on a first come first served basis.
The city has reduced the requirements for the renewal of the Mayor’s business permit from Thirteen requirements in the previous years, Cto will be looking for at least only Three requirements this year. This included the application form, print out ledger of current year and comparison of 2013-2014 income. Large tax payers are advised to bring with them their value added tax returns.
Cebu City Mayor Michael L Rama whose aim for the city and the Cebuano populace to make business prosper in order to make the lives of the poor become better, also wanted to make things easier and convenient for the city’s partners in progress and development with the new system for the renewal of their business permits.
Businessmen will undergo at least four steps in the one-stop shop services. This included the following, (Step 1) Application; (Step 2) Evaluation and Assessment; (Step 3) Payments and printing of Temporary Mayor’s Business Permit; and (Step 4) Verification of requirements and printing of Final Permit.
The services at SM Trade Hall will also include the application for New Mayor’s Business Permit, Retirement of Business Operations, and also Cedula issuance for business permit purposes only, however Cedula issuance for other purposes will be available at the Cebu City Hall.
City Hall employees will be deployed to accommodate the operators and/or owners of the more than Thirty thousand business establishments from the city’s Eighty villages. They will be on a shifting duty and will observed a no lunch break policy.
Meanwhile, the deadline for accepting payments on assessments of business taxes fees without penalties will be on January 15, Thursday, but the assessment made after January 15 is subject to penalty.
Two days before the start of the operation, City Hall Department Heads conducted an ocular inspection in the area to ensure that everything are well taken cared. Some City Hall employees were also preparing for the annual activity held at SM Trade Hall which is conducted in the same venue for three years now.
