One-stop Business Permit Renewal to Start Jan. 4
In order to give an ample time and space for the city’s partners in progress and development, the city government here through its City Treasurer’s Office or CTO will hold the renewal of Mayor’s Business Permit for the year 2016 at the SM City Cebu Trade Hall 3 which will start on January 4 Monday.
The processing of the business permit renewal will start at 9 o’clock in the morning until 8 o’clock in the evening from Monday to Friday on a first come first served basis. However, they are open for transaction for two Saturdays on January 9 and 23.
In an interview with the BARUGG News, CTO chief Diwa Cuevas encouraged the business owners and operators to renew their permits within the scheduled date on January 4-20 to avoid the two percent (2%) interest and Twenty-five percent (25%) surcharge and penalties.
She clarified that their operations in SM Trade Hall will last until January 23 Saturday as booked in the SM Trade Hall but after January 20 it has already interest, surcharge and penalties, adding that their operation will be temporarily closed on January 16 Saturday for the Sinulog celebration.
Cuevas has also shared that they are targeting at least 1.5 billion pesos collection during the period. She likewise clarified that they cannot predict how many clients will be served per day, however she pointed out that they will be issuing a computerized priority numbers on a first come first served basis.
“We encourage our businessmen to be there ug sayo aron dili sila maabtan sa deadline. After the scheduled renewal of business permit we will have a tax mapping para sa kadtong mga establishments nga wala pay business permit,” Cuevas further underscored.
The city has reduced the requirements for the renewal of the Mayor’s business permit from Thirteen requirements in the previous years, Cto will be looking for at least only Three requirements this year. This included the application form, printout ledger of current year and comparison of 2014-2015 income. Large tax payers are advised to bring with them their value added tax returns.
Businessmen will undergo at least four steps in the one-stop shop services. This included the following, (Step 1) Application; (Step 2) Evaluation and Assessment; (Step 3) Payments and printing of Temporary Mayor’s Business Permit; and (Step 4) Verification of requirements and printing of Final Permit.
The services at SM Trade Hall will also include the application for New Mayor’s Business Permit, Retirement of Business Operations, and also Cedula issuance for business permit purposes only, however Cedula issuance for other purposes will be available at the Cebu City Hall.
City Hall employees will be deployed to accommodate the operators or owners of the more than Thirty thousand business establishments from the city’s Eighty villages. They will be on a shifting duty and will observe a no lunch break policy.
The CTO has submitted a request to the Cebu City Council to extend the processing of Mayor’s business permit until January 27 due to the many holidays in January and waiting for the approval as of this update.
