OLX’s Yesss, Yaman: A Marketplace for Online Sellers
A heap of unused and pre-loved clothes, appliances, and gadgets are just one-step away from cash.
This is proven by OLX (Online Exchange) Philippines, the Philippines’ largest online marketplace for buying and selling items of all types, offering Filipinos an extra income in a fast and easy process.
Yesss, Yaman! Campaign
OLX came up with figures through survey- a TNS conducted “Yesss, Yaman! Study”- among 500 urban households to accumulate data on how much Filipinos could possibly earn through online selling of preloved items in the Philippines between June and July this year.
According to the survey, about 41 percent of respondents said they are comfortable selling their preloved items, while 56 percent of those who have express interest of selling unused items online.
OLX has also disclosed that households have combined P21 billion worth of secondhand items which still have monetary value and can be sold – total of P10.36 billion worth of Electronics, P 4.5 billion worth of automotive items, P 3.04 billion worth fashion items, P1.96 billion worth of home appliances, and P 1.38 billion worth of collectibles.
OLX urged Cebuanos to sell surplus items over the web through their “Yesss, Yaman!” campaign.
The “Yesss, Yaman!” campaign encourages every Filipino to engage on selling things pertaining to unnecessary ones such as unused household items or pre-loved clothes, which can help them earn extra money and make their home uncluttered.
“Since the launch of our ‘Yesss, Yaman!’ campaign in Cebu, many locals have joined OLX in buying and selling secondhand items.
Cebuanos have finally recognized the potential monetary value of unused items in their household,” says RJ David, co-founder and CEO of OLX Philippines.
Other OLX campaigns
According to the OLX recorded data, an average of 2000 posted ads for secondhand items every day are done by Cebuano sellers, making the company’s advocacy a truly beneficial and effective way to garner money.
OLX Cebu Senior Marketing Manager Regina Aguilar, said that selling pre-loved items is a smart way to earn a living, where sellers can earn an extra cash from the stuff that they need while buyers can deal at a reasonable price since secondhand items are a lot cheaper that the brand new ones.
Through this, OLX has also introduced their “Yaman Checklist” to help the sellers to easily monitor their earnings from their sold items.
Also, through “Yaman Calculator” sellers can compute their sold items on OLX site efficiently.
