Odd-even Traffic Scheme Now in Force Along F. Legaspi Bridge in Pasig
The city government of Pasig started Tuesday the implementation of an odd-even traffic scheme in one of its major roads.
In an advisory posted at the Facebook page of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the city’s Traffic and Parking Management Office (TPMO) said it is now enforcing an ‘experimental’ odd-even traffic scheme at the westbound lane of the F. Legaspi Bridge, which stretches from East Bank Road to M. Eusebio Avenue.
Under the scheme, all vehicles with plate numbers ending at 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 are prohibited from passing through the road on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Meanwhile, vehicles with plate numbers ending at 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 are barred from passing through the road on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Affected motorists are advised to take alternate routes.
Prior to this, Pasig City has been implementing the MMDA’s Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) also known as the ‘number coding’ scheme, with window hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The UVVRP is a traffic decongestion measure which bans both private and public utility vehicles from plying Metro Manila’s roads on weekday peak hours. (PNA) FPV/BNB
