OCD: Jolt Deaths Now 108, 200 Injured, 7 missing
The number of earthquake-related casualties in Cebu, Bohol and Siquijor had already reached 108 as of 9 o’clock in the morning on Wednesday while there are also over 200 injured victims.
Joy Hernandez of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Central Visayas reported that there were 97 deaths in Bohol, 10 in Cebu and one in Siquijor.
Hernandez said there are seven persons – three in Clarin and four in Tagbilaran City – are still reported missing. Hernandez is expecting more casualties once the reports from all 47 municipalities in Bohol are consolidated.
The report said there were 21 Roman Catholic Churches, including that in Loboc and Loon towns that were destroyed or damaged, while several infrastructure projects like bridges were also destroyed.
According to Hernandez they are also coordinating with the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) because about 60 of the injured victims in Bohol are scheduled to be brought to Cebu City.
