Notorious Drug Personality-Rapist Killed in Tangke, Talisay
A suspect who raped a minor and also known to be a notorious drug pusher was shot dead by apprehending operatives in a follow-up operation in Brgy. Tangke, Talisay City on September 12, 2018.
The suspect was identified as Velly Urot Baguio, a resident of Sitio Galaxy, Brgy. Tangke, Talisay City. Baguio was also known as a notorious drug pusher and was also responsible for the killing of police assets in Talisay City.
Baguio reportedly raped a minor in the said barangay, which prompted a follow-up operation.
At around 4:00 A.M. the mother of the raped victim sent a complaint at the Brgy. Hall of Tangke Talisay, the mother and the victim were immediately brought to Talisay City Police Station.
An hour after, the Talisay City police along with barangay tanods conducted a follow-up operation on Baguio, who was found hiding at his grandmother’s house. He was found to be high on drugs at the time of apprehension.
The police asked the Baguio to surrender peacefully but when they apprehended him, he pulled out his gun and pointed at the operatives prompting the operatives to defend themselves.
Baguio sustained gunshot wounds and fell on the floor.
The operatives immediately rushed Baguio to the Talisay City District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
One .357 revolver with two live ammunations, six pieces of plastic sachet suspected to be shabu and drug paraphernalias were recovered from the suspect. (Aljun S. Cainghog)
