Northeast Monsoon to Bring Rains in Luzon, Moderate to Strong Winds in Visayas
(PNA) — The northeast monsoon continues to be the dominant weather system affecting the country bringing cloudy skies with light rains in most parts of Luzon, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its Thursday forecast, PAGASA said Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Bicol Region and the provinces of Aurora and Samar will experience cloudy skies with light rains while the rest of the country including Metro Manila will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
The temperature in Metro Manila on Thursday will range between 20-28 degrees Celsius.
With the presence of northeast monsoon, the state-run weather bureau also issued gale warning as the sea condition will be rough to very rough to affect the eastern seaboards of Luzon and of Visayas.
”Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” it warned.
PAGASA also said moderate to strong winds coming from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas. (PNA) LAM/CLTC
