There will be no extension, Cebu City Treasurer Arlene Renluza said as the deadline of the renewal for business permits is today January 25, 2019.

According to Renluza, 24,000 business establishments have already renewed their permits this year, with an estimate of P1 billion collected, she added.

Meanwhile, 31,000 business have already been assessed as of yesterday and they are expecting more as the deadline is today, she added.

Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña said in a Facebook post that a business establishment can acquire a provisional permit if their requirements are still incomplete as long as they still pay their taxes.

“If your requirements are still incomplete, you can still get a provisional permit as long as you pay your taxes. You can pay online now as well.

We are trying to make things as easy for you as possible. Last day is tomorrow, so please don’t be late”, Osmeña said in his Facebook Page.

Osmeña also warns businesses that can’t renew their business permits today.

“Reminder lang (Just a reminder): tomorrow is the last day to get your business permit without incurring penalty. We are trying to make getting all your requirements as easy as possible so please do not give us any excuses to close your business for failing to pay your taxes!”, Osmeña said.

The Cebu City Treasurer’s Office will accept payments until 6 pm today at the Robinsons Galleria. (ASC)
