NGO’s, Gov’t Holds Medical Mission in Tuburan

JCI Metro Cebu Uptown Chapter, Visayas Community Medical Center (VCMC), United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP), and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management (PDRRM) held a medical mission and an orientation on Disaster Risk Reduction-Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (DRR-CCAM) at the Cebu Technological University Gym in Tuburan in the province of Cebu on May 26, 2018.  

According to CPDRRMO’s Facebook page, Barangay Officials, Purok Leaders, Tanods, with Mayor Democrito “Aljun” Diamante, and some members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management (MDRRM) Council participated in the orientation.

The medical mission was made possible through the help of around 100 doctors, medical technologists, nurses and medical volunteers with Mr. Richard Hernandez, Tuburan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management (MDRRM) Officer as resource person.

The medical mission offered free medical consultation, HIV testing, blood typing, pap-smear, ECG, eye examinations, and minor surgical procedures. The medical mission also offered free circumcision, free haircut, and distributed reading glasses to senior citizens.

A medical mission was also held the next day May 27, 2018 at Asturias in the Province of Cebu. (Aljun Cainghog)
