NGCP to Shutdown Some Facilities in Cebu, Bohol, Leyte starting April 19
The National Grid Power Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) will shutdown some of its transmission facilities in Cebu, Bohol and a portion of Leyte on April 19 from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M.
NGCP, in a statement, said the shutdown will cover the 138kV Ormoc-Maasin-Ubay transmission lines, affecting BLCI, BOHECO I and BOHECO II. Meanwhile, the scheduled activities on the 69kV Ubay-Alicia transmission line, which is set on April 21 (8A.M. – 5P.M.), will also affect some portions of BOHECO II.
In Cebu, portions of the Visayan Electric Company areas and CEBECO II will experience brownouts due to the scheduled maintenance activity of the 69kV Compostela-Consolacion transmission line on April 28, from 8A.M. – 5P.M.
The NGCP, however, clarified that these scheduled maintenance activities are “ tentative,” but assured that they will send notices if there will be sudden changes. It also further said that following this event, the Distribution Utility (DU) will implement power interruption schedule among its concessionaires.
