Next Gen Gaming Made Affordable: Xbox Series S Announced at only $299

on

Microsoft unveiled the Xbox Series S, the smaller brother to the Series X, via an official Twitter post with a November 10 launch. The Xbox Series S will also have a more affordable $299 price tag, making the entry to next-gen gaming cheaper.

The Xbox Series S will feature more modest specs compared to its bigger sibling, aiming for a 1440p gaming experience in contrast to the 4K gaming experience the Xbox Series X promises to deliver. Still, the smaller console will offer the same experience as most if not all of the X’s features will come with the Series S, albeit without the physical disk drive.

The Series S will be a digital-only console, meaning no physical disk drive will be present.

New Features & Specs

The Xbox Series S still packs a heavy punch in terms of next-gen performance despite its smaller size. Here are some of the features that come with the Xbox Series S:

  • 1440p at 120 FPS
  • Ultra-Low Latency
  • Variable Rate Shading
  • Variable Refresh Rate
  • DirectX Raytracing
  • Custom 512 GB SSD
  • 4K Streaming Playback
  • 4K Upscaling for Games

What makes this console more appealing to many is its price point of $299 or approximately P15,000.00 without customs fees and taxes. This price range opens and entry point to the next-gen gaming experience for many. With the pandemic still raging on, this might also be a good buy to keep everyone in the household entertained whilst waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel. (GFB)
