New Talisay Mayor to Hire a Traffic Czar
Mayor elect Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas expressed his willingness to hire a Traffic Czar or a Traffic Expert to help solve the City’s problem on traffic.
Gullas was among the Cebu South 1st District Mayors who took oath at the Carcar City Hall on Thursday, June 6.
Gullas pointed out that traffic enforcers and all members of the City of Talisay-Traffic Operations Development Authority (CT-TODA) will be co-terminous.
Gullas said that the government of Talisay will create a criteria on who is qualified to be the traffic expert under the CT-TODA.
Gullas added that he already thought of someone who could be the potential traffic expert in the city but he didn’t disclosed the name yet.
Roger Villaver, head of the CT-TODA was assigned to make guidelines and norms on who is qualified to be the traffic expert.
However, Gullas wants to put barangay tanods in specific roads to aide in the traffic situation.
Tanods are to be deployed in Barangay San Roque, Barangay Cansojong, Barangay San Isidro and Barangay Lawaan.
Gullas said that he already met with the department heads in different barangay and he is also planning to coordinate with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to let members of the CT-TODA undergo various seminars and trainings.
Meanwhile, Minglanilla Mayor Elanito Peña, City of Naga Mayor Valdemar Chiong, San Fernando Mayor Neneth Reluya, Carcar City Mayor Mercy Apura, Sibonga Mayor Lionel Bacaltos and Congressman Eduardo Gullas also took oath before Senator Cynthia Villar in the Carcar City hall. (MLC)
