New Naga City Mayor Will Prioritize Health and Peace and Order
Naga City Mayor Elect Valdemar Chiong expressed his gratitude to his supporters after a landslide victory for the mayoral race in the midterm elections on May 13, Monday.
Chiong said he’s so happy to see that the people of Naga trusted him to be the father of the city again.
Chiong explained that as of the moment, health and peace and order are his top priority.
Chiong said that the city’s healthcare is stable and they have health facilities all around the city specially the South General Hospital which is located in Barangay Tuyan.
The hospital can serve the people of Naga and other towns in the southern part of Cebu.
Meanwhile, Chiong said he will look for a way to strengthen the peace and order in the city.
Chiong added that he will also develop social services by conducting various activities specially for the senior citizens.
Valdemar Chiong was proclaimed Mayor yesterday at the Naga City Hall after he won the polls with 40,647 votes against Señor Delfin who only got 15,847.
Meanwhile, his daughter, which is also his running mate incumbent Naga City Mayor Kristine Chiong got the Vice Mayor spot with 40,976 votes against Venci Del Mar who only got 13,854 votes.
Chiong said that if the people of Naga unite, the city will be more progressive.
Valdemar Chiong served as Mayor of Naga from 2007-2016 where he finished his 3 terms and retired.
During the 2016 elections, Kristine Chiong became Mayor.
Finally, during the 2019 midterm elections, Valdemar Chiong is back to serve the city.
Valdemar Chiong and Kristine Chiong will take office as Mayor and Vice Mayor of Naga City on June 30. (MLC)
