New LPA Threatens to Enter PAR Within 24 Hours
While typhoon Glenda exited Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) at 8 am Thursday, PAGASA is currently monitoring a new low pressure area (LPA) outside the PAR some 900 kilometers east of northern Mindanao.
PAGASA said the new weather disturbance is expected to enter PAR within the 24 hours.
Once the LPA enters PAR, it will be named “Henry”, PAGASA said.
US Joint Typhoon Watch Center (JTWC) has raised the status of this new weather disturbance in the South Pacific, saying it may intensify into a tropical depression as it travels over water.
