New BPO Firm in Ilocos Norte Offers 5,000 Jobs

Laoag City (PIA) – The newly opened Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firm in Ilocos Norte is now looking for 5,000 workers to join the company.

Accenture, one of the world’s largest management consulting, technology services and outsourcing companies, finally opened its branch in Ilocos Norte on March 4 paving the way for more job opportunities to Ilocanos in the next few years.

Project head Manish Sharma said the opening of the BPO firm is a recognition of the Ilocanos’ globally competitive talent and skills.

“Finally, after your long and determined efforts from 2008 until today, we are opening in Ilocos Norte. We are counting on you to accelerate growth through reliable, well-paying and fulfilling jobs for our youth,” she said.

The Ilocos Delivery Center will initially provide Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services to health administration and finance clients across Europe and North America.

“With centers in Manila and Cebu, and now in Ilocos, Accenture further strengthens our ability to create a greater impact for our clients globally and in the region with a sharp focus on health administration and finance operations,” Sharma said.

Governor Imee R. Marcos said that the operation will bring more quality jobs to people in the province noting that 200 professionals will be hired as pioneer employees.

Citing the high percentage of outmigration in the province, Marcos sees the career opportunities in Accenture as “a fresh alternative, a genuine opportunity not only for economic benefit but more importantly, for social benefit and true family unity” because Ilocanos need not to find work outside Ilocos Norte.
