Netizens Call Vice Ganda’s Apology Half-hearted

While there are still numerous supporters of Vice Ganda, Netizens in Facebook and Twitter slammed the comedian’s apology as half-hearted.

One Facebook user, who refused to be named, said it did not show in Vice Ganda’s face, when he issued his apology in Showtime today, that he was sincere. “It was half-hearted. Way lami,” said Facebook user.

Before his Showtime, aired in ABS-CBN, went on its regular programming, Vice Ganda told his viewers that he called up Jessica Soho earlier today to supposedly apologize for his gang rape joke, but the journalist reportedly told him she was not in a mood to accept the call.

Netizens criticized Vice Ganda for his joke in his May 17 concert in Araneta Coliseum wherein he said if Soho would portray in a rape scene, it would be gang rape. Soho’s fellow Kapuso journalists were among the first to criticize Vice Ganda’s joke, while for her part, the veteran journalist said rape should not be made as a material for any comedy, as it offends rape victims.
