Netflix Releases Trailer for Japanese Animation Film ‘A Whisker Away’

Keep an eye out for a new Japanese animation film that’s coming to Netflix this June 18.

Directed by “Sailor Moon” director Junichi Satoh and written by Mari Okada of “Anohana”, “The Anthem of the Heart”, “A Whisker Away” tells a story of love, and a great deal of cat!

This story is of Miyo Sasaki, nicknamed “Muge” meaning “infinitely mysterious,” who has a bright personality and is full of energy at school and at home. She also finds herself secretly in love with her classmate Kento Hinode.

Miyo tries repeatedly to get Kento’s attention, to no avail. She then realizes that the only way to get close to him is to transform into a cat, but at some point, the boundary between herself and the cat becomes ambiguous, and she is forced to give up her life as a human. (GFB)
