NCRAA Emerges As Palaro Leader Anew With 209 Medals
Winning 209 medals in various games they competed in, the National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) clinched anew the championship of the Palarong Pambansa 2016 held at the Albay Sports and Tourism Complex inside the Bicol University compound here.
The NCRAA plucked 104 gold, 57 silvers and 48 bronze medals in this year’s national games participated by 18 regions, including the newly-created Negros Island Region.
Coming far behind is the STCAA (Region IV-A) with 40 gold, 43 silver and 59 bronze, followed by the WVAA (Region VI) with 35 gold, 35 silver and 39 bronze medals and CVIRAA (Region VII) with 29 – 31 – 29.
Fifth in medal standing is the NMRAA (Region X), raking in 25 gold, 31 silver and 29 bronze medals; tailed by newly-formed NIRAA, with 21 – 28 – 38.
Closely touching the back of NIRAA is the SRAA (Region XII) which netted 20 – 20 – 29.
Also at the league of above 10 medals are the CLRAA (Region 3), which tallied 17 – 14 – 28, and CARAA with 12 – 19 – 15.
Those with gold medals below 10 are: DavRAA (Region 11), 8 – 18 – 19; BRAA (Region 5), 8 – 15 -18; ZPRAA (Region IX), 6 – 7 -15, EVRAA (Region VIII, 6 – 3 – 9; RIAA (Region I), 5 – 11 – 21; MRAA (Region IV), 5 – 7 – 7; CAVRAA (Region II), 4 – 9 – 8); ARMAA, 3 – 4 – 10; and Caraga, 1 – 5 – 1.
