A Local Community Consultation (LLC) was held on Tuesday by the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) to exchange ideas and concerns regarding on how to improve the lives of the people living in the poorest conditions in the Philippines.
NAPC met with different local stakeholders and Civic Society Organizations (CSO) in Cebu and asked about their concerns and formulate better plans in improving the lives of Filipinos living in the poorest condition.
NAPC Secretary Noel Felongco headed the consultation and discussed about their “Sambayanihan Serbisyong Sambayanan” (SSS) program, one of the flagship programs of NAPC..
The SSS program is a 5-year developmental program created by NAPC to help reduce poverty in the Philippines. The SSS program targets families living as informal settlers and the urban poor to provide them with basic services and access to decent shelters, livelihood and employment; develop innovative infrastructure and financing mechanisms to the rural poor; and strengthen rural-urban agro-economic value chains, among others.
