The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is back on airport rankings, albeit on a negative tone, as the airport was recently ranked as the world’s worst airport for business class travelers, said a study conducted by American luggage app Bounce.

This comes as the Bounce’s Business Class Index ranked NAIA with a measly 0.88/10 business class score.

This ranks NAIA at the 38th spot out of 38 busy airports globally.

The Bounce Business Class Index took into account the airports’ number of lounges, Skytrax rating, number of destinations served, and the percentage of annual on-time flights.

Bounce said that NAIA has the worst scoring in three different categories.

“The main gateway to the Philippines, Manila’s airport was the worst scoring for three different categories: its number of destinations, on-time performance, and rating from Skytrax,” according to Bounce.

NAIA currently serves 101 destinations, with 59.6 percent on annual on-time flights. The Philippines’ main airport also has a Skytrax rating of 3.

However, NAIA did not fall behind in the lounge department, as the airport is in the middle of airports in the number of lounges, with 14 currently present in the airport.

London’s Heathrow Airport garnered the highest rating as the best airport for business class travelers.

Heathrow Airport is trailed by Japan’s Haneda Airport, with Singapore’s Changi Airport ranking third. (GFB)
