My Chemical Romance is Back, and Already Topping Charts with ‘The Foundations of Decay’
In case you missed it, the saviors of the broken, the beaten, and the damned, My Chemical Romance, have officially made a comeback after a 6-year hiatus with their new single, “The Foundations of Decay,” already ranking number 1 on the Billboard charts.
Unbelievably, “The Foundations of Decay” is the band’s first top hit on a Billboard chart as the single sits comfortably at the top spot of the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.
This marks the first time the band is making an appearance on the chart.
Moreover, “The Foundations of Decay” is also sitting at the top spot on the Rock, Hard Rock, and Alternative Digital Song sales, all while also ranking top 5 on the Hot Alternative Songs chart, and top 7 on Alternative Streaming Songs chart.
The new single is also top 24 on the Rock and Alternative Airplay chart, and top 36 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.
This speaks highly of the band’s fame, which almost did not falter after 6 years of being inactive in the industry as a band.
Rumors of the rock superstars started in June 2019, when Joe Jonas said during an appearance on the UK’s KISS FM Breakfast show that My Chemical Romance was also rehearsing next to them in New York.
“I’ve got some dirt,” Joe Jonas said. “My Chemical Romance apparently were rehearsing next to us in New York recently, which I thought they broke up, so I don’t know,” the Jonas Brothers member added.
True enough, My Chemical Romance announced in October 2019 a reunion performance slated on December 19, 2019.
The band then announced a tour for 2020 which was delayed until 2022. (GFB)
