MTV Music Evolution 2016 Set On June 24

The brightest international and local stars will once again share the stage for the second MTV Music Evolution on June 24.

Iconic and contemporary international music acts and some of the hottest local artists will perform for this one-night only music event.

It is going to be a live music event that will bring to life the evolution of music genre, enabling the younger generation to experience and discover how music styles and sounds have evolved as time passed by.

MTV recognizes that the Philippines is known for its rich music and dance culture, and that Filipinos are known globally for being music lovers.

The first MTV Music Evolution held last year was a huge success. In fact, MTV Music Evolution 2015 won the Best Entertainment (One-off/Annual) Award at the Asian Television Awards 2015.

About 22,000 concert-goers trooped to Quirino Grandstand in Manila to witness the event’s first edition.

Filipino artists Abra, Gloc-9 and Filipino-born American rapper Apl. De. Ap. performed that night. Among the foreign artists, meanwhile, include Naughty by Nature, YG, DJ Cash Money and DJ Mustard.

This year, OneRepublic, the international pop band behind the hits “Counting Stars”, “Secrets”, “Apologize”, among others, will join the lineup of performers. The first time that the group performed in the Philippines was in 2013.

The good news is that fans have the chance to watch their second performance here for free.

Starting April 26, fans may win tickets through game contests (details to be announced).

Note that MTV Music Evolution tickets/passes are not for sale. Thus, everyone should keep their eyes on the upcoming contests to win passes.

Further details, such as event venue, and the other artists who will join the lineup will be disclosed in the coming days.

Meanwhile, MTV Music Evolution will be witnessed not just by concert-goers here in Manila, but also by people from around the globe. The event will be recorded live for global telecast for MTV World Stage global series, enabling the international community from over 160 countries to also enjoy the concert.
