Motorcycles Only in Outer Lane in Talisay City
Motorcycle riders driving in Talisay City will have to follow a much stricter traffic rule as the City of Talisay-Traffic Operations Development Authority (CT-TODA) will soon be apprehending motorcycles not using the outer lanes or slow lanes.
In an interview with Superbalita, CT-TODA head Jonathan Tumulak said that motorcycles are only allowed to use the outermost lane or the lane near the sidewalks when driving in Talisay City.
“Naa na sa atong city ordinance, naa pud na sa atong national law na ang kining motor naa ra jud ni silas daplin, outer lane,” Tumulak said in an interview with Superbalita last Tuesday.
According to Tumulak, this comes after they found that almost half of the traffic accidents involve motorcycles.
From January to June, CT-TODA responded to 1,099 traffic accidents, 456 of which were motorcycle accidents.
By implementing this rule, the CT-TODA hopes to see fewer accidents that involve motorcycle riders in the city.
The information dissemination of the new rule for motorcycles will last for a week. (ASC)
