More Vaccines for Cebu Health Workers

The Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH)-7 is ensuring every health worker’s safety by targeting more of them to be vaccinated.

Today, another 44,800 additional doses of china-made sinovac vaccine arrived at the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) via Philippine Airlines.

DOH-7 Chief Pathologist Dr. Mary Jean Loreche disclosed that they there are only a small number of health workers that need to be vaccinated. However, she added that their priority is to protect all health workers and other frontliners against COVID-19.

This is the third batch of vaccine that arrived in Cebu for mass vaccination.

24,680 total doses were delivered during the 1st and 2nd batch on March 2 and March 5.

Meanwhile, AstraZeneca, another vaccine brand, arrived in Cebu province on March 10 with 30,000 total doses.

In Central Visayas, DOH-7 said they need a total of 110,000 doses to vaccinate all 56,640 health workers. (MLC)
