Department of Social Welfare and Development-7 (DSWD-7) has distributed the P13 million worth of Livelihood Assitance Grant (LAG) to 1,360 beneficiaries from Tuburan, Balamban, and Asturias in Cebu Province.

Rebecca Geamala, DSWD-7 regional director, has encouraged the beneficiaries to use the grant they received from the government for its intended purpose. She also thanked the people and the officials for the opportunity to serve and for the trust of the agency.

Each beneficiary received P10,000 start-up capital to recover the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the family's livelihood.

The DSWD-7 will monitor the beneficiaries, who are given seven (7) days after receipt to liquidate the grant to ensure that it was used for its purpose.

The LAG is part of the recovery and rehabilitation program under the Bayanihan 2 Social Amelioration Program.
