More than 2,000 Athletes to Join 5th Ironman

More than 2,000 athletes from all over the world are expected to join in the 5th Ironman in Lapu-Lapu City this coming Saturday and Sunday.

At least 500 triathletes coming from 55 countries will be among the participants.

Hemvler Mendoza, head of Lapu-Lapu City’s Tourism, said they have already started checking the 56-mile route for the bike ride which traverses the cities of Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, Cebu and Talisay.

On Sunday, major roads of Lapu-Lapu and the whole stretch of the Cebu South Coastal Road including the tunnel are scheduled to be closed from 5 am to 12 pm.
