More Nurses Augmented in Cebu Hospitals

The Department of Health 7 said that more nurses were deployed in the different hospitals in Cebu to aid hospitals, especially with the increasing number of COVID-19 cases due to the Delta Variant.

DOH 7 Regional Director Dr. Jaime Bernadas said that the department has deployed additional 164 nurses in the different public and private hospitals in Cebu.

Cebu City EOC – 20
Perpetual Succor – 14
Saint Vincent General Hospital – 11
UC Medical Center – 10
Visayas Community Medical Center – 10
ACE Medical Center-Cebu – 9
ARC Hospital – 7
Cebu Velez General Hospital – 5
Cebu South General Hospital – 4
Lapu-Lapu City Hospital – 4
Cebu North General Hospital – 2

Meanwhile, from July to August this year, 150 additional nurses were deployed in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

The nurses deployed were hired under the Emergency Hiring of Health Personnel for Covid-19 Response.

Moreover, DOH 7 said that aside from nurses the department is also accepting applicants for doctors, medical technologists, and other support personnel. (ASC)
