Binisaya Film Fest 2014 will be held this September 19 and 20, 2014. One of the features of the event is the Asian shorts which will be shown at September 20, 2014 3:00pm at the USC-CAFA Theater.
Here are more information of the Asian shorts directors who will be part of the event.
KavichNeang, a Cambodian filmmaker who graduated in 2013 in Visual Communication at Limkokwing University in Cambodia. In 2010, he directed his second short documentary called, “A Scale Boy” under the Cambodian Film Commission (CFC), which is led by well-known Cambodian-French film director, RithyPanh. Later in 2012, Kavich was selected to attend a documentary filmmaking led by Docnet Southeast Asia Summer School in Manila, Philippines. In 2013 Kavich attended was selected as a fellow for Asian Film Academy of Busan International Film Festival.
Sorayos PRAPAPAN (1986, Thailand) is an independent filmmaker based in Bangkok. He finished an education at the Film and Photography Thammasat University Thailand. After his schooling, he started working as a production assistant for the Palme D’or awarded film Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives (2010). He also attended a lot of international workshop such as Generation Campus 2013 (Moscow International Film Festival),Asian Film Academy 2013 (Busan International Film Festival).
His Latest Short Film Boonrerm (2013,17 Min) been selected for more than 20 international film festival such as International Film Festival Rotterdam 2014,Busan International Short Film Festival 2014 and also winner of online film contest from Daazo:Impossible Short Film Challenge 2013. Besides his work as a short film director, Prapapan is a sound man and foley artist.
