Moonwalk 2013 Features Costume Contest
On October 19, support the fight against breast cancer and wear your “pinkiest” costume for a chance to win in ‘Pink Yourself Up!, the Moonwalk 2013 Costume Contest’.
Take photos of yourself in pink during the walk. Submit your best photo to gina.mariquit@rafi.org.ph., accompanied with these details: your complete name, email address, landline number, and mobile number. Only one photo is allowed. Deadline for the submission of photos is on Oct. 22.
The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) will screen the photos received and select the top 20 best photos. On October 23, RAFI will post these photos on the RAFI Facebook page (www.facebook.com/rafi.org.ph) under the album Moonwalk 2013.
In the album, look for your photo then tag yourself and your friends. Ask them to like your photo. Only “likes” on the photo within the Moonwalk 2013 album in Facebook from October 23-30 will be counted in the final judging.
There will only be one declared winner, who will receive P2,500. Announcement is on October 31.
The criteria for judging include originality and creativity (40 percent), social media impact/Facebook likes (40 percent), and relevance of the costume to the cause (20 percent).
Moonwalk: A Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness is a unique collective advocacy campaign focused on early screening and detection of breast cancer through monthly breast self-examination and mammography, especially for women aged 20 and beyond.
Last year, 3,000 people from various sectors of the Cebuano community supported the annual advocacy walk held every full moon of October in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is in its tenth run this year.
The Eduardo J. Aboitiz Cancer Center (EJACC) of RAFI once again calls on the public to take part in this massive awareness campaign, which this year highlights a walk from Fuente Osmeña Circle to Plaza Independecia. Assembly time is at 5 p.m. at Fuente Osmeña Circle, while the walk starts at 6 p.m. after a very brief program.
The walk will be capped with a show featuring Cebuano bands and performers.
The event is organized by RAFI-EJACC in partnership with Cebu City Government and Task Force Cancer of Cebu City. It is also supported by Cebu Cancer Fight Inc., I CAN SERVE Foundation, She Matters, and CAN with GOD.
