Moira Dela Torre Visits Cebuano Fans

Award winning singer-songwriter and “Hugot Queen” Moira Dela Torre arrived in Cebu yesterday to serenade her Cebuano fans for her “Braver Moira” concert.

The concert will be on October 25 Friday at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City.

Upon her arrival at the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA), members of her fan club, “Moisters” Cebu Chapter met her right away. Together with Dela Torre is her husband, Jason Hernandez.

Meanwhile, a press conference was held at the House of Lechon in Don Jose Avila St., Cebu City. During the press conference, Dela Torre gave gratitude to all her Cebuano fans for giving her nonstop support since day one.

She also revealed that she is planning to write and make a song in Bisaya language.

“Actually this is one of the plan for the next album, I’ve really seen how much love I get from the Davaoeños and Cebuanos. I just want to speak in your language effectively,” Dela Torre said.

Dela Torre added that Original Pilipino Music (OPM) is once again rising and she strongly encouraged everyone to keep on listening to local music.

Behind her success in the music industry, she explained to everyone that music was an outlet of emotions rather than a career.

“I never pursued a career in music, for me it was more of an outlet, it was never for work but an outlet of emotions, outlet of my experience and people’s experience,” Dela Torre said.

Other music artists like Kim Baluzo, Kurt Fick, Ice Seguerra and I Belong to the Zoo will also perform as front act for Dela Torre.

Last year, Dela Torre also held a concert entitled “Tagpuan sa Cebu” at Waterfront Hotel. Moira Dela Torre rose to fame for her covers of Imago’s “Sundo” and Moonstar88’s “Torete” as well as the Himig Handog winning single, her interpretation of Libertine Amistoso’s “Titibo-tibo”.
