Mine Firm’s Literacy Program Gets Nat’l Award
The literacy program of the FCF Minerals Corporation here dubbed “Handog Aral sa Ikauunlad ng Buhay” recently bagged the third place of this year’s National Literacy Awards held in Baguio City.
The mining firm’s literacy program’s components include education, employment, livelihood, clean and green program and school of living traditions.
Ian Moller, Officer-In-Charge of FCF General Manager Operations, said the program proved to be effective in uplifting the lives of the beneficiaries from poverty.
“Our program has been awarded for the fourth time as outstanding literacy program in the Cagayan Valley region and in the whole country,” he added.
The National Literacy Awards has been institutionalized by the Literacy Coordinating Council (LCC) of the Department of Education (DepEd) in partnership with other national government agencies, among others.
