MIHCA Culinary School Opens New Branch in Cebu

The growing demand for hospitality industry workers particularly in cruise ships, led the Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA) to open their latest branch in F. Ramos st., Cebu City.

MIHCA is an affiliate of the Magsaysay Group of Companies, a Filipino company that has been in the shipping industry for the past 60 years.

MIHCA branch manager said one of their advantages over other hospitality training centers abounding the country is the training and help they give to their students, which does not stop inside the classroom. They added their On-The-Job (OJT) training also went beyond usual standards.

The culinary school, established in 2007, aims to become the preferred hospitality and culinary institution that will fuel the global hospitality industry with world-class Filipino professionals.

In short, MIHCA provides opportunities for their graduates to land jobs internationally since the company prides itself of its international partners.

The courses available in MIHCA are Professional Culinary Arts (7 months), Professional Baking and Pastry (3 months), Food and Beverage Services (4 months), Housekeeping Services (5 months), Bartending Essentials (1 month), Basic Flairtending (2 weeks) and Barista (3 weeks).

Tuition fees are depending on the type of courses, it ranges from P20, 500 pesos up to P 184,000 pesos, which is also available on installment basis. Cash payments are given attractive discounts.

The tuition fee includes complete set of needed materials and uniforms to be used such as MIHCA shirt, course’s jacket, black pants, side towel/apron with logo, kit bag/toque, tickler, culinary shoes, clipboard with cover, wine opener, offset spatula, knife set, notebook, lighter, handouts, ID, training fee, OJT training, and graduation fee.

To be a MIHCA student, you need to comply the following requirements: NSO birth certificate, Transcript of Records/ Form 137, Diploma (High school or College) and 2×2 ID photo.

The courses are open to all high school and college graduates, undergraduates and shifters.

The enrollment is ongoing. MIHCA enrollment observes first come, first served basis.
