Published

on

Microsoft has recently removed the waitlist for its AI-powered Bing Chat feature and is now available to everyone.

This comes as Microsoft announced that the new, GPT-4 powered Bing AI chatbot will feature in the stable version of its Edge web browser.

GPT-4, a neural network, is based on OpenAI’s large multimodal model that exhibits human-level performance on various professional and academic benchmarks.

The feature was first introduced in February 2023 as a developer preview and not a public release, as per reports.

Moreover, the new version is the fourth iteration in the GPT series and is also available separately on ChatGPT Plus, a paid version of ChatGPT. The GPT-4 model has 13 billion parameters, which is 3 billion more than its predecessor, GPT-3.

Microsoft’s usage of GPT-4 will bring the feature, which is still behind a paywall in OpenAI’s platform, free for the public to utilize.

How to access Bing Chat
Users will be able to access the new feature by visiting the online portal for the ‘new Bing’, clicking ‘Join the Waitlist’, and signing in through a Microsoft account.

It is also available in Microsoft’s Edge browser at the top right of the window.

As the AI industry continues to rapidly develop and expand, it is becoming increasingly competitive. With the release of GPT-4, Microsoft has positioned itself as a major player in the field of NLP and conversational AI.

Other major tech companies such as Google, Amazon, and Facebook are also developing their own AI platforms, making the field more competitive than ever. (GFB)
